The Decision to Remember

IMG_0597

In the metaphysical book, A Course In Miracles, Jesus gently guides us back to the part of our mind that forgot we *separated from God. God didn’t leave us, we left him. Chapter 10 of the Text, in Section II. The Decision to Forget, beautifully explains what has “seemingly” happened by our dissociation.
*We never left God but we are having a dream that we did.

Chapter 10. Section II. The Decision to Forget
1. “Unless you first know something you cannot dissociate it. Knowledge must precede dissociation, so that dissociation is nothing more than a decision to forget. What has been forgotten then appears to be fearful, but only because the dissociation is an attack on truth. You are fearful because you have forgotten. And you have replaced your knowledge by an awareness of dreams because you are afraid of your dissociation, not of what you have dissociated. When what you have dissociated is accepted, it ceases to be fearful.”

Here is the proof: You cannot split off from something unless you first knew what you split off from. In the dream we heard the ego and the Holy Spirit but we chose the ego. The very fact that we chose the ego proves that there is a Holy Spirit, the memory of God in our mind!! Now that we know we actually have a Holy Spirit in our Mind, we can choose it and LISTEN!

We think we have a battle with the ego in our Mind. The Love of God is going to win because Love is stronger than fear! But the battle only “seems” horrific! It is not! It is a simple gentle decision that now we choose to REMEMBER. After the ego “speaks” – and you SEE it for the hate it is – you remember the Holy Spirit is in your mind and you CHOOSE it as your teacher.

We know the truth and still the ego speaks and still we choose against it. The power of our mind is expending large amounts of energy by separating off from the atonement (the belief we can be separate from God) to worship the ego.
Now we let that energy go to choosing the LOVE within rather than the false self that wants to be in control.

With the power of our mind we buried the memory of God. Now with the power of our mind we remember to choose again and realize the ego is just a “thought” and it can be changed!

And….NO GUILT! Absolutely do not accept a thought of guilt in your holy mind.

We do not need to be afraid of God because he is waiting patiently for us to wake up and give him a Kiss! He can’t wait to hold you in his love – which by the way He is he doing at this very present moment and never has stopped.

Every time a little false thought appears and you change it you are on the road HOME to where True Love Awaits!

We made the world by choosing against God and the GUILT began.
Now we drop the ego’s hand and GUILT disappears!

And….NO GUILT! Absolutely do not accept a thought of guilt in your holy mind.

We wake up by choosing the Holy Spirit again! And again, And again….it gets easier the more you do it.

My salvation comes from me!

My salvation comes from me.

A Course In Miracles, Workbook Lesson 70

Spring 2014 2014-03-02 003

Salvation seems to come from anywhere except from you. So too does the source of guilt. You see neither guilt nor salvation as being in your own mind. When you realize that all guilt is solely an invention of your mind, you also realize that guilt and salvation must be in the same place.

Read lesson 70 frequently and remember salvation comes from YOU. The decision maker, the part of your mind that decides to listen to the ego or the Holy Spirit is WHO you are. You are a decision making Mind. Guilt comes from the decision maker choosing and listening to the ego. Guilt is an invention in the mind. It is a lie. You have done nothing wrong but the ego would keep you trapped in the world by making sure you are miserable at all times! Don’t listen to it.

Don’t believe the *guilt, don’t believe that the body is your total identity and don’t believe your thoughts of fear or pain. When you do, you are deciding to be a body and being led by the false self, the ego.

We fear God and think he will take something back from us. Loss is a big factor of the world. This is a place of loss. Death seems to be the greatest loss but it is not real either.
You are Love, how could you lose that? Ego says we lost love. It lies! Gently and without fear, look at the hate that is denied and repressed. In looking it is forgiven – and it is gone because it is “seen.” You have brought it to the light.

Hate is a defense against guilt, (when we hate something we feel guilty )

and guilt is a defense against Love. (feeling guilty we never feel love, lovable or loved)

You are saved by your decision making mind. That is why salvation comes from you. The body can give you pleasure or pain and both only make the body and the ego seem real.

“Few appreciate the real power of the mind, and no one remains fully aware of it all the time. However, if you hope to spare yourself from fear there are some things you must realize and realize fully. The mind is very powerful, and never loses its creative force. It never sleeps. Every instant it is creating. It is hard to recognize that thoughts and belief combine into a power surge that can literally move mountains. It appears at first glance that to believe such power about yourself is arrogant, but that is not the real reason you do not believe it. You prefer to believe that your thoughts cannot exert real influence because you are actually afraid of them. This may allay awareness of the guilt, but at the cost of perceiving the mind as impotent. If you believe that what you think is ineffectual you may cease to be afraid of it, but you are hardly likely to respect it. There ARE no idle thoughts. All thinking produces form at some level.” T 2. VI 9. 3 – 13

Yes, you have a body and it is neutral. Yes, take care of it, keep it healty but it is not YOU. All problems are the same. Bring the problems to the decision making mind. Our belief in the problem is the problem. Embrace both the victim and victimizer, we are all one and we are the same.

We do not think we are a Son of God, but it is impossible to be separated from Source. Look at the guilt and wait; look at the hate and wait some more, be patient, don’t judge the ego. Just look. Looking is forgiveness. Look and it will disappear. We cling to our ego and disaster stories but they do not identify you.
